how voting works
five steps, one minute. votes are visitors' opinions, counted; they set the order of the feed.
- #1
▲ follow, ▼ fade.
tap the up arrow to follow, the down arrow to fade. tap it again to take it back.
- #2
one vote per device per post.
votes are anonymous behind a quick bot check. no sign-in, no wallet.
- #3
change it for 24 h.
after a day your vote stays as it is.
- #4
avoid lives on the post page.
avoid counts like a fade and can carry an on-chain transaction as the reason.
- #5
hot, new, top.
hot: net votes on a log scale plus how recently it was posted, so a new post with a few votes can pass an old one with many. new: newest first. top: most net votes today, in 7 days or all time (UTC days).
posts with few votes
posts with fewer than 3 votes are shown in a published order: posts that show a name first, reshuffled each UTC day, then the rest, newest first. posts with 3 or more votes always come first, in the hot order. on top, posts tied on votes follow the same order.
practice · not counted · nothing is sent
a practice post
tap ▲ or ▼ to try it. nothing leaves this page.
anonymous votes can be farmed (a cleared browser or a new network gets a new vote), so the counts are a signal of what visitors clicked, not a census of people.
